A woman is recovering after being shot by by a robber Tuesday night.
Police said Sharron Diaz, 52, was approached by a man outside her home in the 4000 block of Newson Road around 9 p.m.
The man pulled a gun and demanded her purse.

A man was robbed by another man while the two were drinking Tuesday night.
Police said Chance Franks and Coyle Lee McCauley, both 32, were drinking at Franks’ home in the 5000 block of Rolling Hills Drive.

Police are investigating after a woman was robbed by two men in her home Tues afternoon.
Rosario Sequra was at home in the 3900 block of Crestview Drive when someone rang her doorbell shortly before 5 p.m.

Stars activate fielder Bianchi, place fielder Bolivar on DL

Man shot by intruder

A Huntsville man was injured after being shot by an intruder late Monday.
Police said Ronald Mullard was at home at 3509 Conger Road when an armed man entered through the back door around 10 p.m. and demanded money.
When Mullard said he didn’t understand what the man wanted the intruder opened fire then fled.

Police investigating death of man

Huntsville police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in  his apartment Monday evening.
The 22-year old male was found by his stepfather shortly before 7 p.m. at 4150 Memorial Parkway.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and there was no sign of foul play.
No further details were released.

Weekend public safety roundup

The following incidents were reported by law enforcement from late Friday to early Monday:
Someone stole a laptop computer from an area business.
An employee at Pure Water at 4725 Commercial Drive found a front window broken out around 7 a.m. Saturday.
The window had been broken by a rock and the computer was missing.
No arrests were reported.
