TV reporter helps cops nab robber
Police are crediting a local television newsman with helping capture a robbery suspect early Thursday.
Eric Charles Stewart, 20, allegedly entered the MAPCO station at 6670 Highway 431 south in Hampton Cove around 1:30 a.m.
Stewart pulled a gun and robbed clerk Brandy Ashby before driving away in a gold Oldsmobile.

Man cut during argument
A man was cut during an argument Wednesday night, police said.
Billy Springer was at a homeless campsite at 3105 Memorial Parkway when he another person got into an argument.
During the argument the man pulled a knife and cut Springer on the neck and arm before fleeing.
Springer was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests were reported.
Police investigate suicide in medical district
Huntsville police are investigating an apparent suicide Wednesday morning in the medical district downtown.
Police said the incident, which was dispatched as a shooting, took place at 115 Longwood Avenue shortly after 11 a.m.

A former UAH hockey player charged with rape has returned to his native Finland rather than face prosecution.
Local reports indicate attorneys for Lasse Uusirvirta, 23, told Madison County prosecutors Tuesday that their client had left the country and did not plan to return.

Police investigating overnight robberies
Huntsville police are investigating three robberies from late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
In the first case a juvenile reported he was robbed by two people in the 200 block of Binford Drove shortly before 8 p.m.
No arrests were reported.

Man charged with capital murder in 2012 killing
Huntsville police have charged a man in connection with a murder in the summer of 2012.
According to a release Tony Marquand Scott Bradford, 33, was arrested by US Marshals in Jefferson County Monday night and returned to Huntsville.
A murder warrant had been issued for Bradford for the killing of Delois Lightford.
