TV reporter helps cops nab robber

Police are crediting a local television newsman with helping capture a robbery suspect early Thursday.
Eric Charles Stewart, 20, allegedly entered the MAPCO station at 6670 Highway 431 south in Hampton Cove around 1:30 a.m.
Stewart pulled a gun and robbed clerk Brandy Ashby before driving away in a gold Oldsmobile.

Man cut during argument

A man was cut during an argument Wednesday night, police said.
Billy Springer was at a homeless campsite at 3105 Memorial Parkway when he another person got into an argument.
During the argument the man pulled a knife and cut Springer on the neck and arm before fleeing.
Springer was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests were reported.

Huntsville police are investigating three robberies from late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
In the first case a juvenile reported he was robbed by two people in the 200 block of Binford Drove shortly before 8 p.m.
No arrests were reported.
