UPDATE: New Market gunman in custody, no injuries reported
A man who reportedly approached an ambulance crew with a gun then kept deputies at bay for several minutes in New Market is in custody.
The man surrounded about 1:40 p.m.. Radio reports indicated his mother was with him when he surrendered.

Man struck, injured late Thursday
A man was injured after being hit with an unknown object late Thursday.
According to police Daren Wilson was in the area of Hall and Derricks Streets when someone attacked him at 11 p.m.
Wilson was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests were reported.
Man hit with bottle during argument over girlfriend
A man was injured after he was hit in the head with a bottle during an argument with another man over his girlfriend early Friday.
Gregory Burke said he was at 4820 University Drive when the argument started just after 2 a.m.
His injuries were described as non-life threatening.

A security guard is recovering after she was cut by a homeless man at a north Huntsville bank Wednesday.
Around 4:30 p.m. Jennifer Kirkland found a transient sleeping outside Wells Fargo Bank at 2525 North Memorial Parkway.
When the man awoke he began to argue with Kirkland and then lunged at her.
