One of two suspects in Wednesday gold shop robbery turns himself in; other still being sought
One of two men wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a gold shop Wednesday in Meridianville has turned himself in, police said Thursday.
According to an email release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, James Darnell Humphrey, 21, no address given, turned himself into authorities Thursday.

Red light at U.S. 72-Wall Triana repaired, police release limited details of crash
The traffic signal at the heavily traveled intersection of Wall Triana and U.S. Highway 72, damaged in a fatal crash late Wednesday, has been repaired.
Officials in Madison sent out an email about 2:45 p.m. saying the signal was working.
The signal’s control box was destroyed during a two-vehicle crash about 11 p.m.

Airport, emergency officials test response during simulated plane crash

BREAKING: Gold dealer robbed in Meridianville
Sheriff’s deputies are responding to the Mr. Gold shop on U.S. 231 in Meridianville after the business was robbed Wednesday morning.
According to radio reports, the robbery was reported around 11:20 a.m. Two black males wearing blue jeans and dark “hoodie” type shirts used an unknown type handgun to rob the store of gold items.

Police seeking help in finding man missing since early September
Huntsville police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man missing since early this month.
According to a release, Evan Lee Powell, 56, was last seen by his landlord on Sept. 7 and was reported missing Sept. 20. Powell may be driving a silver 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass with Alabama tag 47J80V9.

The identities of two teens who were found dead under similar circumstances Tuesday have been released.
According to Madison County Coroner Bobby Berryhill, Ryan Michael Edmonds, 19, and Heather Jane Junkins, 20, died Tuesday of apparent drug overdoses.

Police: Two teens found dead in northern Madison County; were boyfriend and girlfriend
Sheriffs investigators are probing the deaths of two teenagers whose bodies were found in their homes Friday morning.
According to Madison County Sheriff’s Investigator Brent Patterson the teens, a male and female both 19, were the victims of what he termed an “accidental drug overdose.”
