Soldiers Enjoy Taste of Thanksgiving During Annual MWR Dinner

Around 800 soldiers stationed at Redstone Arsenal got a taste of Thanksgiving a few days early Sunday, courtesy of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation group.
The organization staged its 6th Annual Salute to the Military Dinner at the MWR Recreation Center.
Soldiers enjoyed a feast featuring turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes, candied yams, corn, rolls, and a variety of desserts.

Police Identify Couple Involved In Saturday Attempted Murder-Suicide

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the man and woman involved in an attempted murder-suicide in the Harvest Community Saturday.
According to a release, Daniel Messineo, 32, shot and killed himself after trying to kill his wife.
She was identified as Jennifer Messineo, no age given.
Deputies responded to the couple’s home around 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
Neighbors had called 911 after Mrs. Messineo came to their house suffering from multiple stab or cutting wounds.
Deputies found Mr. Messineo in his car. He had apparently shot himself there with a revolver after assaulting his wife.
Sometime after she ran from the residence, Messineo went to his car and shot himself.
He was pronounced dead at the scene while his wife was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
She has since been treated and released.
Mrs. Messineo’s other children have been accounted and are OK, according to the release.

Man Assaults Wife, Kills Self In Harvest Community

A man shot and killed himself after attempting to kill his wife during a domestic disturbance in the Harvest Community Saturday afternoon.
According to Madison County Sheriff’s Investigator Chuck Zeissler and information from the scene, the attempted murder-suicide happened around 3 p.m. at 117 Sanibel Circle off Nick Davis Road.

Deputies At Scene Of Possible Attempted Murder-Suicide

Madison County deputies and investigators are on the scene in the Harvest Community where a woman has been assaulted by a man who may have then killed himself.
According to sources and information from the scene, deputies responded to a home on Centurion Drive off Nick Davis Road near the Madison-Limestone line around 3 p.m.
Upon arrival they found a woman had been either shot or stabbed. Upon further investigation, a man was found in a car in front of a nearby home. He had reportedly shot himself.
The area has been sealed off while investigators examine the scene.
A member of the sheriff’s office may make a statement to reporters at the scene soon.

HPD Arrests Man In Connection With Gas Station Robbery

(From release)Investigators from the Huntsville Police Department’s South Precinct have arrested and charged Craig Allen Kilpatrick, 22, of Huntsville with Robbery 1st Degree in connection with the case that occurred Thursday morning at the Fuel King at 619 Oakwood Avenue.
Kilpatrick was booked into the Metro Jail.
Bond has not been set at this time.

Police Arrest Suspect Thought Connected To Dozens Of Area Burglaries

(From release)HPD investigators and officers from the West Precinct have arrested Jonathan Dempsey, 43, of Huntsville and charged him with Burglary Third Degree. Officers apprehended Dempsey after they received a call of a suspicious person in the Southwest area of Huntsville and found items stolen from a residence that was recently burglarized.
Investigators said that they can link Dempsey to at least 60 burglaries in the Huntsville area.
Dempsey is currently in the Metro Jail awaiting
a possible revocation of his parole.

Mefford owns and is President of Dyna Fab Inc., a metal fabrication business located in Huntsville.
