UPDATE: AT&T announced early Thursday customers could once again use their cellphones to reach 911 directly. No reason was given for the outage.

(From release) The Huntsville-Madison County 911 Center requested Huntsville-Madison County EMA to alert the public that AT&T is experiencing a nationwide 911 service outage for their customers.

Other carriers can still reach 911 directly.

AT&T customers can reach the Madison County 911 center directly by calling 256-722-7134 for the duration of this outage. Please direct any inquiries to AT&T.
