Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

By Print Preview

mangerDear Readers,

Today is Christmas.

A day when we should take time to do more than watch parades and football games, stuff ourselves with food, and open presents with family and friends.

It is a day when we should realize what it means to live in an area like Huntsville and Madison County.

We are a community richly blessed with a good climate, better-than-average economy, and a brighter future than many other places.

We should give thanks for living in the greatest country on earth.

A country that, despite its power and position, still takes the time and effort to help countless others around the globe every day.

A country whose citizens have more freedoms than any other in history.

Freedoms bought and paid for with the blood of millions of Americans who have fought and died to protect our way of life.

Freedoms that cannot be destroyed, despite the intentions of those who would seek to do us harm.

So when we open our gifts, eat hearty meals, and watch TV all day let us not forget the real reason for the season.

Let us offer prayers of thanks for what we take for granted the rest of the year. Prayers that we may continue to be the most blessed nation on Earth.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from HuntsvilleNewswire!

Editor’s Note: Readers may notice fewer stories through year’s end as HNW takes some time during the coming week to celebrate the holidays with family and friends.

Thank you for your understanding.
