A woman and a seven-year old boy were found dead in their south Huntsville home Sunday morning and the woman's husband has been charged with capital murder in their deaths, police and reports said.
Krista Stone, 32, and Zachary Stone were found inside their residence at 11313 Chicamauga Trail around 11 a.m., a police spokesman said in a statement late Sunday afternoon.
The spokesman said Huntsville police received a tip to check on the Stone's from police in Leeds, a city east of Birmingham.
The suspect, identified as Stephen Stone, 33, was taken into custody in Leeds and transported back to Huntsville for questioning.
The spokesman confirmed Sunday evening the suspect is the father of the child.
No further information was released.
Stone was booked into the metro jail Sunday evening on two counts of capital murder and was being held without bond.
Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies at a home in south Huntsville Sunday morning.
Huntsville Police Major Crimes Sgt. Jerry King said officers were called to the scene at 11313 Chicamauga Trail around 11 a.m. to check on the welfare of the occupants.
Upon their arrival officers found two people deceased inside the home.
King said a suspect had been taken into custody in Leeds and was being transported back to Huntsville for questioning,
King would not release any other details saying the investigation was in its early phase.
A release later from the South Precinct supervisor said the bodies were those of a white male and white female and their names were being withheld pending notification of family members.
No other information was immediately available.
Leeds is located just east of Birmingham about 100 miles south of Huntsville.
