Man found dead in home in west Huntsville

A man has been found dead in a home in west Huntsville and police are treating the discovery as a homicide.

Huntsville police spokesman Harry Hobbs said officers were called to 3810 Bob Wallace Avenue around noon Wednesday.

Upon their arrival they located the body of an elderly man in a home at the rear of a lot near the Thurman Road intersection.

Hobbs said investigators would wait for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Family members found the man after going to the house, Hobbs said.

No further information was released.
