A 17-year old shot late Saturday has died, police said Monday morning.
The male teen was found lying in the road in the 500 block of Eastbrook Drive by officers responding to a shots-fired call. He was suffering form a wound to the head.
In a statement, spokesman Harry Hobbs said the youth passed away Monday and the case was now being treated as a homicide.
Hobbs also refused to release the identity of the teen.
He cited HPD policies which state that the department never releases the names of juveniles for any reason.
