A woman was being treated after she jumped from the Whitesburg Bridge early Friday.

According to reports, a passerby saw a pickup truck parked on the northbound side of the bridge, located on U.S. 231 over the Tennessee River.

The motorist then looked over the bridge and saw the woman clinging to a support beam.

Rescuers from a Morgan County volunteer agency then used a boat to rescue the woman.

She was pulled from the water about 7:30 a.m.  Radio traffic indicated the woman was in her 50's and had been in the water for around 30 minutes.

The woman's name was not available nor were any details about her condition.

She was conscious while being taken to Huntsville Hospital.
