The following incidents were reported by law enforcement from Friday evening through early Monday:
(From release) Madison police arrested Justin David Beatty, 22, of Madison Friday for Possession of Child Pornography. The investigation started when a resident of New York contacted police and filed a complaint against Mr. Beatty for soliciting nude pictures of a juvenile. After investigating the allegations, detectives obtained a search warrant of Beatty’s residence and seized various electronic devices including a computer. Pornographic images of children were located on Mr. Beatty’s computer. He was arrested and transported to the Madison County Jail on $15,000 bond.

A shoplifting suspect got away after assaulting an employee at an area Dollar General store.
Police said a loss prevention worker tried to stop a man around 5:30 p.m. at the store located at 2900 Triana Boulevard.
The suspect “used force” though and fled on foot, police said.
He was described a black, 5’9”, and 160 lbs.

A woman’s car was hit by gunfire Friday evening after an altercation involving her son.
Zabrina Robinson said the fight happened at a basketball game at the Lakewood Rec Center on Kenwood Drive. When she was picking her son up someone opened fire from a car, striking her vehicle several times.
No injuries or arrests were reported but the suspects are known to the victim.

Huntsville police are investigating a shooting incident early Saturday.
According to an electronic release police were dispatched to the area of 213 Binford Avenue shortly after midnight.
Police had released no further details as of Sunday evening and a police spokesman did not return a request for information.

Huntsville police are also investigating a cutting at 1155 Old Monrovia Road.
An electronic release said officers were dispatched about 3:20 a.m. Saturday.

A man was attacked and robbed Saturday afternoon.
Tremayne Wall said two men entered his apartment in the 2200 block of Harden Avenue around 3 p.m.
An altercation began and the men took money from Wall and attacked one of his friends as well.
Minor injuries were reported and no arrests were immediately made.

A woman was seriously injured early Sunday when the car she was riding in struck another car.
Cartina Fletcher was in a car that collided with the rear of another vehicle around 1 a.m. on Meridian Street near Whitney Avenue.
Fletcher’s car then left the road, hit a tree, and flipped.
The drivers of both cars were treated for minor injuries while Fletcher’s injuries were described as life-threatening.

Huntsville police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Toney man early Sunday.
Mark Holt, 48, was driving his motorcycle west on Huntsville Browns Ferry Road near Gray Road when an eastbound 2011 Volkswagen Jetta crossed the center line and collided head-on with Holt.
Holt was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as Timothy Alan Hall, 28, of Hartselle.
Hall was booked into the Limestone County Jail on a traffic homicide charge.
