Huntsville mayoral candidates debated before the public Monday evening during a meeting of the South Huntsville Civic Association at Grissom High. Those present included incumbent Mayor Tommy Battle, former mayor Loretta Spencer, and Jackie Reed.
The candidates took on several issues of interest and controversy in the community including the Huntsville Housing Authority, downtown development (at the expense of other areas), ad valorem taxes, and police accountability.
