The 4th of July holiday was barely over when two people were shot, one fatally, outside a west Huntsville bar early Thursday.
Police said he shootings happened at 1:45 a.m. at the Benchwarmer Club at 2998 University Drive.
According to a release a male and female, both 20, were leaving the club when someone opened fire.
Reports indicated the woman was hit in the head while she sat in a vehicle with the man at some point before they left the club.
The man drove to the nearby Red Lobster and called 911.
When police arrived they found the woman deceased in the car and the man suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests were reported.
The names of the victims were withheld pending notification of their families.
