Sen. Sanford announces improvement to Huntsville schools

By Print Preview

(From release) State senator Paul Sanford (R-Huntsville) announced Wednesday the opening for bids to conduct improvements at two Huntsville city schools through the Alabama Department of Transportation. In a letter from DOT Director John R. Cooper, Senator Sanford was informed of projects at both University Elementary School and McDonnell Elementary School for concrete sidewalk construction.

"We must be good stewards of taxpayer dollars. I believe needs in public education and safety are priority spending requests, and that's why I am happy to see funding for University and McDonnell Schools to improve safety for our children," Senator Sanford said. "Hopefully, we can continue looking for further improvements in Madison County," he added.

Paul Sanford represents Senate District 7, all within Madison County, with the lion's share of the district in the city limits of Huntsville. He and his wife are the owner/operators of a family-run restaurant in Huntsville.
