A man was injured after he crashed his motorcycle while leading state troopers on a chase through east and south Huntsville Tuesday afternoon.
The chase began around 12:30 p.m. when troopers reported they were pursuing the motorcycle in the Hampton Cove area.
The reason for the pursuit was not given.
The chase went over Huntsville Mountain on Cecil Ashburn Drive and then into the Hampton Cove area.
City police joined the pursuit as it continued through several neighborhoods off Whitesburg Drive.
The chase ended shortly before 1 p.m. when the cyclist crashed while attempting a sharp turn in the 500 block of Vincent Road.
The man was treated at the scene by HEMSI medics and transported to Huntsville Hospital.
No further information was released.
A message for comment from a spokesman for the AST was not returned.
