Rocket City United releases season schedule

(From release) Rocket City United has announced their 2012 schedule. It's sure to be an exciting with the addition of two new clubs, the newest being Myrtle Beach FC and Mississippi Storm.

RCU's schedule will be highlighted with an away game opener against newcomers, Myrtle Beach FC, followed by a home opener against conference rivals, Chattanooga FC, the following week. The rest of the season contains a home and away game against the other new addition, Mississippi Storm, and another rivalry match against Knoxville on June 12th at home and away in Knoxville just two weeks later.

All home games for RCU can be found at Madison City Schools Stadium. Stay tuned to www.rocketcityunited.com for information on season tickets!
The Southeast Conference has also been divided into two groups: East and West, each made up of 4 teams. Within each group, the four teams will play each other twice, once at home and once away. They will also play each team from the other group, but only once, making 10 regular season games for each team.
At the end of regular season play, the winner of each group will meet in the Southeast Conference Championship game on July 14. The winner will go on to represent the South Region in the NPSL National Championships on July 26th in San Diego, CA.

The Southeast Conference is home to the reigning 2011 NPSL National Champions, Jacksonville United FC.

  • So after failing to win a single home game last season, the big question for Rocket City United is "when will the streak end?" But with the first home match coming against Chattanooga Football Club, don't get those hopes up, boys.
