Company offers free car washes to vets on Friday

(From release) Veterans may visit the Goo Goo 3 minute express washes located in Huntsville and Trussville, Alabama from 8am-7pm on Thursday, November 11, 2011 to receive a complimentary $6 car wash.

Goo Goo believes that it is important to remember those who have served our country and has designed a program to emphasize the importance of support for veterans by the general public. Veterans will only need to inform Goo Goo verbally that they are veterans in order to receive their free car wash.

Grace for Vets is a united front of car wash operators that provide a FREE CAR WASH to veterans and service personnel each year on November 11 to honor their past and present service to their country.

Back in 1945, Mr. R.D. Beck of Anniston, Alabama, a gas station owner, decided to offer his customers something extra: a car wash.  He and his son Lamar began washing cars by hand on the side of the gas station and wouldn’t you know, people started lining up for that service.  Soon, the car wash was bringing in more than the gas station and before long it was official – they were in the Car Wash Business!

By 1955, father and son decided to give their arms a rest and built the state’s second full-serve conveyor car wash.  From there, the business expanded into Georgia and grew along with the fledgling car wash industry.  They took the name Goo Goo in 1972 when they purchased the car wash of that name in Columbus, Georgia.

In late 2001, they developed the Express Wash concept with Free Vacuums.  The first of these washes was opened in Montgomery, Alabama in September 2002 and has been growing ever since.  This unique, industry changing concept appeals to the customer with a fast, inexpensive and high quality wash with unlimited free vacuuming.  Sit back, relax and leave the washing to us.

Today, Goo Goo Car Wash is still a family run business, owned and operated by Lamar Beck, son Roger Beck and Darren Bradham.  We specialize in the sales and service of the latest car wash systems and innovations as well as soap and chemicals.  They are proud to be expanding their Express Wash concept across the country and are located in seven states from Michigan to Texas.  Stay tuned – there are more on the way!
