Clarence Harvey/MPD
Madison police announced Thursday afternoon they had arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident earlier this month.
According to Madison Police Lt. John Stringer, Clarence Harvey, 51, was arrested Thursday afternoon following a tip from CrimeStoppers.
Stringer said patrol officers were able to locate Harvey and detain him until investigators arrived.
Harvey was arrested shortly thereafter on charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
Harvey is accused of striking a cyclist on Madison Boulevard on Sept. 4. He is being held on a $2,500 bond.
Stringer said Harvey had loaned the suspect vehicle, a 2003 Ford F150, to a relative in the Corinth, Miss., area and police were making arrangements to have that vehicle processed for evidence.
No further information was released.
