A Kansas woman's two-year run from the law ended Tuesday when she was arrested by Huntsville police.
Local police were alerted Tuesday by authorities in Topeka, Kansas, that Kathryn Peoples and her son were possibly in the Huntsville area.
HPD Investigator Jerry Tew and uniform patrol officers were able to find Peoples and her son at 1701 Sparkman Drive.
Ms. Peoples was taken into custody without incident.
Peoples had been wanted since December 2009 when she allegedly abducted her son. The boy, whose name was not released, had been listed on the North American Missing Persons Network and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website.
No other information was released.
Kathryn Elaine Peoples, 38, was booked into the county jail Tuesday afternoon on a no-bond charge of first-degree escape.
Her address was not listed.

This child was born into a lesbian couple relationship and was the son of BOTH woman from day 1. She CHOOSE to have a child with her lesbian partner - it was a planned out action - He lived with his mother's and 2 siblings for 5 years calling both woman mommy and mother. One mother was a stay at home mom, the other the provider of the family - quit similar to a conventional family. Family photos were taken of all 5 of them together and sent out at holiday time. Just because the relationship between the mother's ended, doesn't mean that parental rights - lesbian couple or not - should be terminated. The courts awarded visitation that was never met. Kathryn Peoples went against the court orders for this - her doing, she fled and abducted the child - custodial interference. The child in this case is the one who has suffered, he has been taken and hidden from his siblings and mother. To state that he was '2 year old son' - is completely inaccurate. You are believing lies and dishonest statements from a woman who broke the law! She is a kidnapper plain and simple.
This biological mother wisely refused to hand over her 2-year old son to the non-biological adult, former lesbian partner. This is a travesty of all decency and shows a complete lack of wisdom in the courts. As if this situation warranted a missing and exploited children search as well! God help us all!
