Ladies soccer league planned for Huntsville

By Print Preview

(From release) Huntsville is long past due for a dedicated women’s soccer league, but the wait is finally over! After moving to the area from Memphis last summer, Suzy Permar was disappointed to find out there was no dedicated women’s league. With her initiative and the help of HASL, Merrimack and some great volunteers, the time has finally come to have a women’s league in town.

There is going to be a “pick-up” game every Thursday night from 6-8pm at the Kiwanis field until it gets too cold to play. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. If you’re interested, please bring a white and a dark shirt for scrimmaging. There is no charge to come out and play but money will eventually be collected to help pay for the field lights. Volunteers are also being sought to coordinate the new teams for the Spring season, along with anyone interested in helping to run the league.

For more information, please contact Suzy Permar at spermar11@gmail.com.
