(From release) The Northeast Alabama State Fair opens Thursday, Sept. 2 and runs through Labor Day, Sept. 6.
The fair is open at 6-11 pm on Thursday and 6 pm to 1 am Friday, 2 -11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 1-8 p.m. on Monday.
(The Monday time is new this year.)
Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for 4-12 year olds, and 3 and under GET IN THE GATE free. Armband specials are available Saturday, Sunday and Monday on the midway.
Midnight Madness is Friday night, from 10 pm until 1 am, with gate admission and ride armbands for $20, or a walkaround ticket for $6.
This year the fair features the Star Family Circus and the Rowdy Rooster Puppet Show, as well as Russell Davis' Magic Show and a petting zoo. These events are covered by the front gate admission.
The Huntsville Jaycees are also partnering with Southern Crossroads to present the First Annual John Hunt BBQ Festival for Shadetree Division competitors. The cook off is Friday and Saturday with awards presented at 4 p.m. Saturday. Rules and entry forms are available on the home page of the fair website, www.huntsvillefair.com.
