An local man was killed when the vehicle he was driving wrecked early Sunday morning in south Huntsville, police said.

Huntsville Police spokesman Sgt. Mark Roberts identified the victim as Kendall Blake Murphree, 49, of Huntsville.

Roberts told HNW Murphree was southbound on Todd Mill Road around 3 a.m. when his pickup truck left the road, hit a guywire, then struck a tree head on.
