Emergency services are on the scene of an accident along Hwy. 72 west of Moore's Mill Road.
First dispatched shortly after 4 p.m., reports indicate a vehicle has gone down an embankment and several people are injured.
Multiple HEMSI ambulances were on the scene or headed there as of 4:20 p.m.
Although no severe injuries have been reported, it may be some time before the victims are removed from the wreck scene.
Westbound traffic in the Chapman Mountain area will be slow for some time as this incident is cleared.
